Zombie Baby

Okay, so Fiona was not a zombie for her first Halloween (we do call her that when she falls asleep and has her arms sticking straight out) ... but she did get into the spirit of the day.

Daddy carved a scary pumpkin last night and Fiona made her own faces at it:

Then she and Daddy had a camp out in the nursery this morning so Mommy could sleep in a bit. She decided to play in Daddy's bed once we all got up.

Here is her smiling in her Halloween outfit.

And finally, after a full day of scariness and an evening of trick-or-treaters, we needed a good pout.
Happy Halloween, everyone!

Fall Fun at the Corn Maze

Fiona got to meet her cousins Nate and Ben this weekend. On Saturday, we all took advantage of the beautiful weather and went to our first corn maze. It was surprisingly fun!

Fiona, Mike, Ben, and I ventured through a good portion of the maze before we got tired. We also watched the boys "swim" in the corn pit and go down the super slide.

Here is the family in the maze (thank you cameraman Ben)
And a fun picture from Auntie Tracey of Fiona in her coat
And finally a smile captured

Baby's First Bath

Fiona had her first "real" bath in the tub last night. Because of her stitches, she had to have sponge baths before that. It was a first for all of us, but Mike and I tag teamed it and she had a blast in the tub.

Best of all, she smells great! Here is a funny picture of her post-bath.

And a better shot of her.

And a picture of Yogi, checking out who was in "his" bathtub.

Mom and Dad Live Here Too

The blog has been very reflective of our lives for the last few weeks - pretty much everything centers around Fiona and Yogi.

However today is an important day for Mike and me. It is our 5th wedding anniversary. We can't believe it has been 5 years already - and at the same time, can't believe that it has only been 5 years! Many thanks to Auntie Emmy, who is braving traffic and Fiona's fussy time to stay with her so we can go get dinner together to celebrate.

So here are a couple pictures of Mike and me - with our little angel! Our goal this weekend is maybe to take a picture of the whole family.

We're Clean!

Yogi got a very needed bath last night and Fiona got a bath this morning. Here are our clean babies, preparing for the day.

Our Two Babies

It's been a bit of an adjustment for poor Yogi - he was not totally sure about Fiona when she first came home ... or more like when she didn't leave after a couple hours.

But I think he is starting to enjoy the role of big brother now. He usually keeps me company during the night when I'm feeding her and he LOVES to smell her.

Here are Yogi and Fi after a family walk.

And here they are enjoying tummy time this morning while listening to nursery rhymes.

Day 3: Comedy of Errors

Today saw us at day 3 of being a family - and the first day of Mike going back to work. So Fi and I were on our own for part of the day anyway. We did pretty well throughout the day ... even got to watch Price is Right while feeding.

Mike got home in time for me to pee (hooray) and finish a very late lunch. Mike's dad made the drive from up north for the afternoon to see his new granddaughter, so he got here shortly after that. Mike and Dan were visiting and Fi was sleeping so I thought I'd take a quick nap. Apparently that was a bad idea.

Fiona started to have a meltdown so Mike went and got her and he tried to keep her happy while I worked on dinner for everyone. We finally decided that Mike would finish making the sauce and noodles while I fed her. Yogi was in with me and was making weird noises so I sent him out of the room. About 30 seconds later, Yogi threw up a huge pile of bile on our new livingroom carpet. While Mike dealt with that, the dinner prep was passed to Matthew.

After Fiona was fed, Mike was still working on the carpet stain and I ran downstairs to get something to go with dinner. When I came back up, the noodles had boiled over and the stove was covered in water. Luckily none had gotten to the floor yet.

We may not have it all under control yet, but Mike truly believes all would have been well if Yogi hadn't puked. I still have my doubts.

Tomorrow is day 2: sara and fiona on our own. Wish us luck!

Homecoming

Today is all that we expected. We got to bring Fiona home!

She was a huge trooper on the 40 minute car ride home and only fussed when we were waiting in the Arby's drive thru line (Mom and Dad were hungry!). Yogi has been very curious about his new little sister and follows us wherever we take her. The first diaper change at home was a family event ... including Yogi!

Mike just finished giving Fi a tour of the house and now she's taking a little nap. It's been an exciting day for her.

Here are a couple pictures of her settling into the new digs:
