Will She Make It?

Fiona is determined to roll over these days. We spend most evenings hanging out on the floor, working on our mad rolling skills. I think the kids at day care are inspiring her. She's a very determined girl!

Day care is going great! She loves A's house and all the kids there. Apparently the 2-year-olds wait in anticipation every day to see what Fiona will be wearing. Ruffles are a big hit! And a sweet 5-year-old got her a little present and wrote a note by himself and drew a heart on it! So cute!

Here a video of our rolling attempts from earlier this week. Do you think she makes it over?

Play Ball

I'm sitting here in my 55 degree house (stupid furnace went out ... stupid Mike is out of town ... ugh) listening to my hero, Pete the furnace guy, bang around in the basement.

So I thought I would take advantage of my "freedom" (Fiona is at day care, where it's warm) and post a new video of her.

In this video, she was having a great time playing with her new ball. AND notice her talent of balancing a coffee cup on her head!

It Was a Good Run

It's over. The fun-filled parade of relatives who volunteered for nanny duty in December is finished and day care started today. We love our day care lady, so feel very comfortable sending our bug to her. But it will definitely be different in our house. We were getting used to the extra company and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Day care went well today. Mom cried. Fiona did not. She was very tired tonight and wouldn't stop talking. She must have had a lot to tell us!

BIG THANKS to Grandma Nash, Grandma Johnson, Grandpa Vanneste, Auntie Emmy, "Auntie" Mary, Cousin Brenda, and Cousin Anna for spending some of your precious time with us and for giving our girl your love and attention. We cannot thank you enough for the peace of mind you gave us while we went to work. Fiona sends hugs and kisses to all!

Finally, this video doesn't do justice to the "performance," but it's still funny. When I grabbed the camera, Fiona was happily gumming her hands and teether. By the time I hit record, she was getting frustrated. And the laughter at the end is because when she threw the teether, she hit a poor sleeping, unsuspecting Yogi and scared him to death!

Holiday Happenings

We did it! We survived baby's first Christmas and baby's first new years! And we had a wonderful time.

Fiona was generally a good sport as we traveled north to see the families. She and Yogi snuggled in the back seat and slept most of the time. Lucky girl got to see all her grandparents and aunts/uncles on Christmas and lots of cousins as well.

Santa was good to us all and brought Fiona a toy kitchen set, Mommy a food processor, Daddy a hitch hauler, and Yogi some peanut butter treats.

New Years was spent with our "family" of friends in S-town. It was babies galore and so much fun. We left around 11 to try to put the baby to bed - but Fiona had other ideas. She welcomed in the new year with us and then was sound asleep and in her crib by 12:10. Apparently she just didn't want to miss the action!
