But this morning as we hung out on the floor with Price Is Right in the background (day care is sick), she stole my Crate & Barrel catalog from me. I've never been so proud! Granted, she wanted to eat it, but I'm still claiming it as a shared trait! Mike may need that second job yet!

That's MY Girl
I've been a little concerned that Fiona is abandoning me. She's given up her red hair for her Daddy's dark blond locks. She looks just like her Dad. She wakes up like her Dad and falls asleep like her Dad. I was beginning to feel left out.

Happy Thursday
Fiona and I are hanging at home this morning because day care doesn't open until noon. She just went down for a mid-morning (seriously - is 8:45 now mid-morning?!?!) snooze, so I'm going to get some work done. But before I launch into my email, I thought I would post a couple pictures from our robust play session on the floor. She rolled and played. Mommy hung out on a conference call.

Couch Calisthenics
We are grateful for teeth. The ability to bite into an apple (or a cookie) and eat corn on the cob is not to be taken lightly. At least that's what we keep telling ourselves and Fiona as those teeth SLOWLY and miserably come in.
I think we turned a corner yesterday (a Mother's Day gift to us all) and a second tooth on the bottom broke through. So our charming girlfriend is returning to her charming self. Happy sigh ...
Tonight after work/day care, Fiona treated us to a fun-filled couch calisthenics session. She can hold herself up with the couch, but has discovered that it is even more fun to push off backwards and land in Mom's lap. Now that is funny!
And finally - Happy belated Mother's Day from Mike and me to our two wonderful mothers! We love you very much and are grateful for you each day!

Nightcrawler
Fiona is:
a) a giant worm that is great for fishing
b) a character on X-Men
c) a little girl who thinks 2:30 am is for practice crawling in the crib
... and the correct answer is C! The little bug is working on mastering those crawling skills day and night. She still can't quite rally the troops to work as a team, but she is up on her hands and knees rocking a lot. Once in a while, she scoots a bit forward and once in a while, a bit back. She still "scrawls" and rolls all over the place. It is so fun to watch her work on new skills!

Easter Girl
The Easter bunny arrived as expected yesterday morning and left a fun-filled basket of books and blocks. Fiona had a great day playing with Grandpa and Grandma J and Auntie Emmy. We attended the "sunrise" (8:30) service and were treated with the BEST caramel rolls after the service. Heavenly!
I'm preparing for my first business trip since Fiona was born and will miss the next three nights at home. I'm very sad, but know that the bug and Daddy will have a great time.
Here is our Easter in pictures:
