Holiday Smiles

I'm working on a post about Mike and me (gasp!), but it can wait a couple days so I can share these pictures of Fiona enjoying her Memorial Day weekend. We had a super fun picnic yesterday with Grandpa and Grandma J and Auntie Emmy (and Auntie Amanda).

We just finished a family game of hide and seek (we hide with Fiona and Yogi finds us - SUPER fun!). The sun is shining and life is good.

She still believes in the Twins!

Splish Splash

Fiona's taking a bath - and having a blast. We gave her half of a Nutrigrain bar for dinner and the sugar high spilled into bath time. She was splashing like crazy and chasing the rubber ducky around (slippery little thing).

Mike had to change his shirt because he was so wet. I stayed out of the splash zone with the video camera! Smart Mama ;-)

8 Months

Wow - time flies when you are having this much fun! Fiona celebrated her 8 month birthday yesterday with a fun-filled day at daycare and a robust play session in the evening with Mom, Dad, Yogi, and Uncle Kyle.

These days, the little bug is:
  • Waving: She started by just waving at Daddy, but yesterday at day care, everyone was fair game.
  • Standing: She is getting really good at holding herself up and thinks she is cool stuff!
  • Hissing: because she can.
  • In love with Yogi: she will watch him play, run, roll and loves to touch him. He is a little apprehensive of her (she pulls ears) but loves her too.
  • Thinking about crawling: She is beginning to make the crawling motion from the sitting position. However, the girl can roll and pivot anywhere so the motivation is limited.
  • Loving outside: it's just awesome out there. But grass is tolerable at best. Stroller rides to the park however are great!
  • Looking for the source of noises: She wants to know what is happening in her world. Our neighbor's lawn tractor a couple nights ago blew her mind.
  • Eating lots of table foods: some favorites - chicken (!!!!!! - she can eat her weight in chicken) and baked beans. not so favorites - cottage cheese
  • Drinking formula: Mommy's supply made the decision on its own and no longer supported Fiona's eating habit. So she has transitioned to formula and I have packed away my pump.

That's MY Girl

I've been a little concerned that Fiona is abandoning me. She's given up her red hair for her Daddy's dark blond locks. She looks just like her Dad. She wakes up like her Dad and falls asleep like her Dad. I was beginning to feel left out.

But this morning as we hung out on the floor with Price Is Right in the background (day care is sick), she stole my Crate & Barrel catalog from me. I've never been so proud! Granted, she wanted to eat it, but I'm still claiming it as a shared trait! Mike may need that second job yet!

Happy Thursday

Fiona and I are hanging at home this morning because day care doesn't open until noon. She just went down for a mid-morning (seriously - is 8:45 now mid-morning?!?!) snooze, so I'm going to get some work done. But before I launch into my email, I thought I would post a couple pictures from our robust play session on the floor. She rolled and played. Mommy hung out on a conference call.

Mommy is SO funny!
Little bug moves quick. This is not where she was
when I started taking the picture!
Not our best look (stupid flash), but you can see
how strong her arms are!
