It's been a big week. Fiona was 23 months old on Monday (almost 2!!!) and Quinn is one week old today! Since we got home from the hospital last week, we've been trying to settle into what will be phase 1 of our new normal - life with two kids. I've decided that having one kid is like having one kid. Having a toddler and a newborn is like having seven!
Or mostly having a toddler who loves her sister so much that we constantly have to guard Quinn - poor baby will have little concept of personal space! But we are super thankful that Fiona not only loves her very much, but has embraced her as part of the family.
And we have noticed that while the new normal is pretty much chaos (we've been told to just embrace it!), it has been "easier" to settle into life than it was when we brought Fiona home. It's kind of like the pregnancy was - both easier and harder with a toddler. We are forced to keep a semblance of normal routine and good eating habits because someone small is depending on us. It's a good thing!
Finally, here is a sweet picture of the girls playing tonight. Fiona desperately wants Quinn to be able to play more, but we keep telling her soon.
