Overnight Adventure

Sunday morning.
Watching cartoons in our bed.
We headed to Duluth last weekend and did our very first hotel overnight with the kids. We've been wanting to go, and Saturday was Mike's cousin's graduation party. A perfect reason to make the trip. We got to spend lots of good time with Grandpa V and introduced Quinn to several V family members. We also got to see Auntie Tracey and family at the party. Fiona was so excited to see her cousins!

We have been very nervous about the trip - not knowing how the kids would do in the hotel. They started losing it at the party and we were worried the weekend was sunk. We headed to a park to burn off some energy and that helped. Then we went to the hotel room - a two room suite (because we didn't want to go to bed at 8:30) - and let them run up and down the room. Hello happy kids!

Look who can stand on her own.
While clapping. Talent!
Grandpa joined us for dinner and then we headed to the pool. Fiona, of course, loved it! Quinn did not. Like not even a little bit. She and I were attached at every point of her body and then she considered tolerating the water. Swimming lessons are definitely in that girl's future. We like the water, so she needs to get on board. Bed time went fairly well. Fiona enjoyed her princess sleeping bag and Mike made her a great little bedtime nook.

Sunday morning, Uncle TJ, Auntie Laura, and cousins Spencer and Abby joined us and we hit the pool again. Fiona had even more fun (she is so fearless) and Quinn tolerated it a bit more. We finished our visit by heading to some good friends for lunch. We are so proud of the girls. They managed the change, chaos, and new environment so well! Now to get ready for a fun trip north for the fourth of July!
