After I picked up the kids from Ms. A's today, the four of us headed over to the West Junior High to the Vehicle Fair. It's a neat little event that the city puts on for kids (mostly). We saw a dump truck, fire truck, rescue airboat, an army truck, crime scene lab, hot dog truck, snow plow, giant lawnmower, school bus, motorhome, and most exciting - a bulldozer!! Oh, and we got to see a helicopter land on the school field (which was also a highlight)! There were some other construction and utility trucks, but we were all missing Mike as my commentary was "that's a yellow truck. that's another yellow truck." ... Maybe I should study D's truck books a bit more!

Look at Fiona pop a hip in a bulldozer! |
Declan was super pumped about all the trucks, but he didn't like getting up in the high ones. The girls - and especially Quinn - were happy to climb up in everything! Quinn impressed the bulldozer driver as she scaled her way up (and down) with no problem - and so fast. I couldn't get my phone out in time to take a picture! They were super excited to climb into the dozer shovel and truly feel how big it was!
We got a free hot dog dinner and the kids learned that "stop bugging me about the ice cream truck or we won't get ice cream" actually means
stop bugging me about the ice cream truck. now you don't get ice cream. It's so weird how that works ...
It was a fun way to do something different in the evening, get to see a lot of cool vehicles, thank the community workers, and climb big machines.

No ice cream?!? The horror!
I am so with you on your "that's a big yellow truck." I have no idea and my kids are more into Harry Potter and swords and Shopkins for us to even have a truck book.
