Gramp Rapids: The Museum

We are back to our regularly scheduled (and almost complete) Fourth of July holiday updates. Which is a good thing. July has not slowed down for my blogging laziness!

Wednesday morning, we met Otto, Hux, and Milo at the GR Children's Museum. We had never been, but Anna had a family pass so we could get in free with the cousin gang. I think the kids are still bitter that we made them leave that magical place! Top of the favorites list (besides the entire museum) were the fire station, train table, kitchen, treehouse, dress up clothes, other kitchen, dolls, third kitchen, and stage.

Between the fire station, the play camping area, and the dinosaur dig, there were great opportunities for Declan and Otto to expand their bromance. They have the sweetest little relationship developing! They were always so happy to see each other and have someone to play a little rougher with. Despite the occasional sharing bumps that you would expect from a two- and three-year-old, they did a great job interacting and playing together. It is so fun to see the "little boy gang" in the cousin group forming - and it's only a short time until Hux and Milo join in too. It's going to get interesting at the cabin when these boys are 8, 7, 6, and 5!!!

After the museum, we all headed to McDonald's for lunch so my kids could show Otto the ropes on the playplace. The steps were a bit big for Dec and Ot, but the girls were happy to pull them up when the boys would let them. It was the perfect set up for a good afternoon nap! Then after rest, we went to a playground, watched a loon diving in the river, and ate dinner at our very favorite pizza place (where I discovered that my kids like pizza with white sauce. #amen).

Anna and Otto even met us at the museum again Friday morning. We got a couple hours of play in before the long drive home ... and everyone was glad to get those wiggles out. We also had way too much fun with the Wizard of Oz photo cutouts outside the museum - as the Children's Museum is attached to the Judy Garland birthplace/museum.
