After they were dressed, ready for the day, and had fulfilled Mom's requirement of "stand together and smile at me while I take a picture. I can wait all day," they headed downstairs to find their eggs. Most of the eggs had "monies' in them, but a few had little slips of paper. When they put all the slips together, it gave them a clue to "Look in a basket under the bunk bed." Where they found a new DVD. Such fun to discover an extra surprise!
Fiona was supposed to sing during the Easter service at church. We took advantage of this, went a bit early, and enjoyed the annual treat of the most delicious caramel rolls ever in the Fellowship Hall. When it was time for the Sunday School kids to sing (all three of them), Quinn desperately wanted to join. She had learned the song when we went to the practice on Saturday - and Fiona liked having Q near her. So up Quinn went too. They were the cutest, tiniest, silent-est, co-dependent blondes! Fiona had her arm around Quinn and Q leaned her head on F's shoulder. They held the microphone between them. And even occasionally moved their mouths like they just might sing. We'll get there someday.
Then after church, we went to Auntie's and had a fun time with Gma and Gpa J and Gma and Gpa N. The lemon bars that the kids and I made were a hit - as was the fact that Auntie had chips and lemonade! There was a very clear sugar high issue happening after lunch and at one point, Q asked to go to a park because "I need to climb something and I don't want to break Auntie's house." Points for honesty, sweet Q!!!
We headed to the park and ran off some energy - mostly Gpa J's energy as he showed everyone his mastery of physics on the cool standing teeter totter. Auntie managed to not kill herself on the climbing wall, and Dec managed to not fall in the lake while trying to throw a leaf in. We spent time outside when we got home as well, swinging, jumping on the trampoline, and soaking up the sunshine. It was a great way to wind down the weekend before a week that has so far proven more "exciting" than expected. More on that in another post ...
