Spring Break: Part 2

The big kids slept in a bit on Monday, and then we were ready to go for our first official day of waterslides. We decided to head to the WaterDome for the morning. It was a long walk over, but well worth it! This park was easily the group's favorite - and we went two more times during our stay.

The WaterDome was a favorite because they had a great little kids area - with limited ancillary spray and fun slides (good for Quinn), the wave pool (which was a surprising hit with all our kids), and a great tube slide (where you could put five people in a tube ... for example, three six-year-olds and two dads). After the tube slide was sufficiently tested by the big kids and I verified the effectiveness of my phone's waterproof case in the wave pool (thanks to the waves starting and Buggy being way too far away from me), we made the loooong walk back to condo for lunch.

After the littles napped and the bigs had some downtime (and I snuck in a run in a very humid fitness center), we headed to the arcade and go carts. Quinn was not the biggest fan of the arcade, but that could be because she knew we were headed to the big climbing structure next. The kids were pumped that we hopped the shuttle to the go carts, but catching the shuttle after that proved difficult. We ended up doing a lot of walking as we navigated over the big climber and then back to the condo for dinner. While thankful that our people are small, they are still heavy to carry long distances!

Hannah was too little for the big climber and it was too loud for Declan (there were air guns shooting balls that he was not a fan of), so Brad and I positioned ourselves at one of the exits to monitor the bigs while Mike and Cheryl entertained the littles. When close to 15 minutes had passed without us seeing a single one of the four children we were responsible for, we were pretty sure we were crushing this parenting thing. Luckily the four bigs were keeping track of each other IN the structure.

After dinner, we went back to the WaterDome and enjoyed the shorter lines for the tube slide. Cheryl and I even got a turn going down with the bigs! Bedtime was really late [again] and the kids' room was very quiet moments after everyone was tucked in.
