Fall is cranking into high gear here. Mike's hockey season kicked off with the Fall Classic tournament. The team tied two and lost one - so a good way to shake the rust off before the regular season begins. Since the team didn't play on Sunday and Mother Nature was showing off her skills with a glorious fall day, we decided to take the troops to the corn maze. [
Sidenote: we seriously live in the best place for fall activities. And since fall is my favorite ... well, there will hopefully be lots of pictures of fall adventures in the coming weeks!]

We had gone to the corn maze for the first time last year and Fiona totally remembered it. Since I mentioned it two weeks ago, she has been beside herself waiting to go. Five is
soooo dramatic! Declan took an outstanding morning nap, so we decided to push afternoon naps and give it a try. We headed over around 11:00 and had lunch there. Food truck fare at its best. Roasted corn, delicious tacos, and popcorn chicken. #1 and #3 were really digging the chowing down on roasted corn on the cob. #2 thought it was a bit messy!

After we stuffed ourselves, we explored the hay bale maze, tested out the giant slide (all three small Vs soundly approve), checked out the canary tent (not my favorite place as I'm terrified of birds. I may or may not have used the baby as a shield ...), and fed some animals at the petting zoo. Then it was time for our very favorite thing ... the corn pit. It's like a giant swimming pool - full of corn. Just simply the best thing ever. We took turns jumping in, Mike helped the girls do flips, Dec crawled around. So much fun!
The smalls were getting tired after the corn pit, so they relaxed in the stroller and we explored the big maze. This year, it is shaped like a fire truck. Then we did a final trip down the giant slide and listened to the band for a little bit. We were there for almost four hours and had a blast. So much fun, in fact, that there was a triple nap in the back seat on the way home.
At home, there was the inevitable kernel explosion when we starting taking gear off. The fun of the corn pit can really stick with you!
